California Preschool To Close After Students Allegedly Engaged In Sex Acts With Each Other

via ABC 7A Lutheran preschool in California is closing after parents claimed their 4- and 5-year-old children allegedly performed oral sex on each other when teachers weren't looking.

Students at the First Lutheran Church of Carson School engaged in oral sex on the playground, in the bathroom, and during nap time when aides would fall asleep, an attorney representing several of the children told The Daily Mail.

That attorney, Greg Owen, plans to file a lawsuit Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court against the school, church, the principal, and a teacher, according to the Daily Mail.

Parent Richard McCarthy told ABC 7 that a 5-year-old girl "often" performed oral sex on his 4-year-old son at the school.

"He told me about all the bad things that girl had been doing to him," McCarthy told the TV station. "It went down in the classroom, it went down in the bathroom and it went down out on the playground."

Speaking exclusively to ABC 7, an unnamed mother corroborated the claims and told the TV station that her daughter said the sex acts weren't a one-time incident.

"The way that she explained it, it was kind of like it was an everyday thing ... from pulling the pants down to exposing themselves to, you know, trying to get somebody to put their mouth on the privates. It's unfathomable on so many levels. For one, that it actually happened. For two, where it happened. For three, how often something happened."

The California Department of Social Services has cited the school for one sexual encounter between the kids and overall lack of supervision, ABC 7 reported.

The school, which is shutting down, has denied the allegations.

In a statement released to NBC Los Angeles, school administrators say their decision to close the school is due to staffing issues, not inappropriate sexual relationships among students.

"The decision to go into an inactive status was made based on the fact that our director has resigned for personal reasons. We have not been able to secure a full time director in a timely manner," the statement said.

In the meantime, parents are struggling to place their children in other schools, according to Owen, the attorney who's filing the lawsuit.

"Parents are saying, 'My child is now a predator. Now how can I let him go to another school?'" Owen told the Daily Mail.

Business Insider reached out to the First Lutheran Church of Carson through the church's Facebook page but has not yet received a response.
