While many startups did not get funding on Shark Tank India due to a disagreement on valuations, there were quite a few that missed out because their products did not impress the judges. Here are some interesting innovations that did not get the sharks’ backing in Season 2.

VA Perfumes: No love lost

VA Perfumes produces night incense sticks that leave a room fragrant enough to evoke romance, claimed the founder. Though the sharks were amused by the pitch, it did not get the love it sought from the panel.

GunjanApps Studios: App for babies

Founded by husband and wife duo Sourav and Gunjan Gupta, GunjanApps develops online educational games for kids aged between 1.5-12 years. The sharks turned down the duo for creating an ‘addictive’ product that wasn’t ‘innovative enough’.

Magic of Memories: Blood, milk & gore

Magic of Memories produces jewellery made from human DNA - like breastmilk, human blood etc. Though the brand has over 68k followers on Instagram, it found no takers on the show.

Coezy Sleep: Don’t wrap up!

Coezy Sleep creates sleep apparel that swaddles users with a unique 360-degree compression technique. Anupam Mittal, founder-Shaadi.com, tried the product and found it “suffocating”. While some sharks found the product unsafe, others believed the Indian market wasn’t ready for such a product.

SAS Fat to Slim: Exercising “danger”

SAS Fat to Slim promotes weight loss with diet plans and no exercise. It was slammed by the sharks who believed the startup’s no-exercise weight loss plan was “dangerous” and “gimmicky”.

Zoe Nutrition: No one’s buying it

Zoe Nutrition provides diet programmes and wellness products like detox kits, wellness teas, etc. After seeing the product’s ingredients, Anupam Mittal, founder-Shaadi.com, said selling these was akin to a sin. Other sharks, meanwhile, didn’t invest due to its rapidly declining sales.

Flhexible: Pushing paper

Architects Shilpi Dua and Abhimanyu Singh founded Flhexible - a furniture brand producing eco-friendly, lightweight paper honeycomb furniture. The sharks believed the founders were intelligent, but their products were ‘gimmicky’ and thus, didn’t invest.

Organic Smokes: Went up in smokes

Organic Smokes makes herbal cigarettes wherein nicotine is replaced with caffeine and products like tulsi, green tea, rose petals, spearmint, etc. are added. The product didn’t interest any of the sharks on the show.

CredMate: Got no votes

Credmate is a mobile application platform that rates users’ trustworthiness by analysing if a user has kept past promises or defaulted on them. The sharks believed the founders didn’t have clarity regarding the product or its future, and thus, backed out from investing.
