Soybean futures rise 2.94 pc on robust demand

New Delhi, Mar 17 () Soybean prices on Tuesday rose 2.94 per cent to Rs 3,430 per quintal in futures market as traders created fresh positions on spot demand.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for March delivery rose by Rs 98, or 2.94 per cent, to Rs 3,430 per quintal with an open interest of 2,345 lots.

Soybean for April delivery went up by Rs 62, or 1.87 per cent, to Rs 3,370 per quintal with an open interest of 1,31,150 lots.

Market players said raising of fresh positions by speculators on the back of higher demand mainly led to rise in soybean prices. SHWSHW
