Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio continues to expand its user base. According to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Reliance Jio added 8.5 million users in August.
Meanwhile, Vodafone Idea lost 5 million subscribers whereas Sunil Mittal-led Airtel lost 0.6 million users. The debt-laden BSNL too lost 0.2 million subscribers.

At his AGM in August, Ambani said that his
target is to expand Jio’s user base to 500 million. It is adding roughly 8 million users every month.
This seems to put him in a comfortable position to hit the target.
Since January, Jio added 58.8 million users. Vodafone Idea lost 40.15 million subscribers, whereas Airtel lost 12.4 million users.
