Most talked about internet brands

India's consumer internet companies have continued to attract investors as well as customers. These companies — including Paytm, BharatPe, Nykaa, Zomato and Flipkart — have been dominating news headlines in 2022 as well. Media intelligence agency Wizikey’s latest report has compiled a list of most talked about consumer internet companies in February 2022.

Paytm

Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led digital payments company Paytm, run by One 97 Communications, was the most talked about consumer internet company in the Indian media. The company has raised India’s biggest initial public offering (IPO) in November last year, and has lost over 60 percent of its valuation since then. | News Score: 80.2

Flipkart

Walmart-owned ecommerce giant Flipkart was the second most talked about consumer internet company in the Indian media this month, all thanks to its regular sales and upcoming IPO. | News Score: 79.9

BharatPe

BharatPe was among the youngest unicorns of 2021. The company also took over the scam-hit PMC Bank. The company also onboarded Rajnish Kumar, former chairperson of India’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI), as the chairperson of its board. BharatPe was in news for all the good reasons in 2021, but 2022 has turned out to be a polar opposite due to its conflict with ex-founder Ashneer Grover. | News Score: 77.6
