Microsoft’s Satya Nadella grabs top spot on Fortune’s Businessperson of the Year 2019 list

  • Fortune's annual Businessperson of the Year list features 20 business leaders "who tackled audacious goals, overcame impossible odds, found creative solutions".
  • Others on the list include Elizabeth Gains and Brian Niccol.
  • It has two more Indians including Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga (8th position) and Arista head Jayshree Ullal (18th).

Microsoft's Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella has grabbed the top spot on Fortune's Businessperson of the Year 2019 list.

“Nadella wears the gaps in his résumé as comfortably as the jeans and blazers that are his corporate uniform. Key to his leadership style is a willingness to delegate, particularly to three powerful members of his management team,” said Fortune.

Elizabeth Gains, CEO of Perth-based Fortescue Metals Group came in second , followed by Brian Niccol, CEO of Chipotle Mexican.

Every year, Fortune releases annual Businessperson of the Year list featuring 20 business leaders "who tackled audacious goals, overcome impossible odds, found creative solutions".

The list also includes JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon (10), Accenture CEO Julie Sweet (15) and Alibaba CEO Daniel Zhang (16). Two more persons of Indian origin made it to the list like Mastercard CEO Ajay Banga at the eighth position and head of Arista Jayshree Ullal at eighteenth.
