JioCinema may soon launch premium subscription plans starting at ₹2 per day

Mukesh Ambani-led Viacom18’s streaming platform JioCinema, which is currently offering free 4K streaming of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is reportedly working on paid subscription plans for its platform.

Viacom18 secured the digital rights to stream IPL in India for the 2023-2027 cycle by paying a whopping $2.7 billion, beating Disney+ Hotstar. A test website, spotted by a Reddit user, has revealed the premium subscription plans that the company is working on. It is to be noted that the company has not confirmed the plans yet.

JioCinema expected premium plans


The test website has showcased three plans, a Gold, Daily and Platinum. As per the company, the different plans will offer the same content at the highest (4K) quality.

“Watch all content, on any device, in the highest quality, on all JioCinema Premium plans”, the website reads.

The daily plan, otherwise priced at ₹29 is being offered at ₹2. It comes with a validity of one day and allows the user to stream content on two devices.

The Gold plan worth ₹299 is being offered at ₹99. It comes with a validity of 3 months and allows users to stream content on up to two devices at the same time.

Coming to the top-tier Platinum plan, it is priced at ₹1,199 and is being offered at ₹599. The plan offers a validity of 12 months and allows users to stream content on up to four devices at once. In addition to this, it offers an ad-free experience, apart from the live content.

The plans are currently not live on the platform so you don’t have to worry about subscriptions for now. Additionally, the company had earlier said that the first edition of the IPL will be streamed for free.

We should know more about the JioCinema subscription plans once the company reveals more details.
