Kolkata, Apr 29 () India should leveragetechnology towards manufacturing in the post COVID-19 scenarioto tap consumption-based economies like the US and Japan,former Union minister and Rajya Sabha member Suresh Prabhusaid on Wednesday.
Prabhu said in the future, manufacturing will betechnology driven and not create enough job opportunities.

"Manufacturing has to happen but the processes mightchange, there will be more reliance on artificial intelligenceand other knowledge-based mechanisms.
"US, China, Japan are huge consumption-orientedeconomies; India should leverage technology towardsmanufacturing to cater to these markets," Prabhu was quoted assaying in a Merchants Chamber of Commerce statement.
