Guar gum futures climb on robust demand

New Delhi, Mar 31 () Guar gum prices on Tuesday gained Rs 79 to Rs 5,031 per five quintal in futures trade as speculators increased their holdings on spot demand.On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum contracts for April delivery traded higher 1.6 per cent, or Rs 79, to Rs 5,031 per five quintal with an open interest of 18.285 lots.Likewise, the contracts for delivery in May surged by Rs 76, or 3.99 per cent, to Rs 5,080 per five quintal as open interest stood at 29,140 lots.Analysts said after tracking firm physical market trend, traders raised their bets which led to rise in guar gum prices.
