Funds for president's office get nominal increase

New Delhi, Feb 1 () The government allocated Rs 80.98 crore for the president's staff, household and allowances in the Union Budget 2020-21 on Saturday, a marginal increase of Rs 6.56 crore from the last budget.

In the last budget, the president's office was allocated Rs 76.33 crore, which was later revised to Rs 74.42 crore.

The allocation for 2020-21, funds have been increased to Rs 80.98 crore, a rise of 8.1 per cent as compared to the last budget.

The funds include Rs 60 lakh towards the salary of the president, Rs 32.78 crore for the establishment and allied expenses and Rs 47.60 crore for the expenditure on the household establishment of the president, including staff salaries, the budget document said. ABS KJ KJ
