As the coronavirus pandemic grips the world, the world has come to a halt. Countries around the world have locked down, and sealed their borders. This has grounded many airlines across the world.

As per the directive from the UAE government, Emirates too temporarily suspended all passenger flights from March 25, 2020. The airline flies to 157 destinations in 83 countries and territories.

In an emotional moment, the ground crew of Emirates bid farewell to its last operating flight on March 25. The employees said, “This is not goodbye.”

Over the next few weeks, Emirates’ operational teams will focus on preparing for service resumption.

The Emirates flight EK 005 to London Heathrow, which departed at 1605hrs on March 24 was the last flight to take off from Dubai.

Another Emirates flight EK 262 from Sao Paulo, which landed at 2235hrs (local time) was the last flight to arrive on 25 March into Dubai.

However, the company said that it continues to operate its international air cargo links for the transport of medical supplies and food, around the world.
