Axis AMC, Tishman Speyer to build sustainable offices in India

- Axis Asset Management and New York based Tishman Speyer intend to develop commercial projects across Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and more.
- Axis Asset Management plans to exercise end-to-end control of its project’s life cycle.
- The last 6-8 years saw significant activity in commercial real estate by both institutional and retail investors, said Axis.

Axis Asset Management today partnered with New York based real estate developer Tishman Speyer to develop sustainable office buildings. The partners are eyeing greenfield commercial projects across eight markets — MMR, NCR, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Kolkata.“I strongly believe that together we can create a compelling offering in this asset class. Axis Asset Management plans to exercise end-to-end control of its project’s life cycle across design, development, leasing and property management through the partnership.

Although the market has products focusing on rent generating commercial assets, the Axis platform will provide a unique opportunity in the development stage in commercial assets,” said Chandresh Nigam, MD & CEO at Axis AMC.
Axis AMC, over the last five years, invested significantly in broadening its alternatives capabilities. It manages over ₹4,400 crore across various businesses including real estate, private equity, structured credit, quantitative and listed equities.
