Flipkart Health+ app launched — aims to deliver medicines and healthcare products to over 20,000 pincodes

Flipkart has announced a new app – the Flipkart Health+ – that will take on the likes of PharmEasy and Tata 1mg. The app will allow users to order medicines and healthcare products such as health drinks, wellness and hygiene products alongside others.The Flipkart Health+ app is currently live on the Google Play Store and is expected to be released on the App Store for Apple devices in the coming weeks. The company also has a website that allows users to order from the web.

The products available on Flipkart Health+ include Covid-19 essentials such as masks, sanitizer, self-test kits, antiseptics, disinfectants, thermometers and more.
Additionally, customers can also purchase personal care products, food products such as snacks, beverages, coffee, dry fruits and more. Flipkart is also selling healthcare devices such as bp monitors, diabetes test machines, oximeters, nebulizers and pregnancy test kits.

“Through Flipkart Health+, we aim to solve the critical gap of accessibility to genuine medicines and healthcare products and services across the country, especially in the remotest parts of the country that have been underserved until now,” Prashant Jhaveri, chief executive officer, Flipkart said in a statement.
While regular products can be purchased directly, medicines can be purchased in two ways.
How to order medicines on the Flipkart Health+ app?
You can purchase medicines directly or by uploading a prescription. When you upload a prescription, the app will automatically select the medicines and all you need to do is select the quantity.

It is to be noted that certain medicines cannot be sold without a valid prescription and you will have to upload a prescription if you wish to buy such medicines.
You can upload your prescription either from your gallery or by capturing an image using your camera.
The app is currently removing the delivery charge but users may have to pay a delivery charge of ₹50 in the future.
Third-party sellers
To offer products and medicines on its platform, Flipkart is collaborating with third-party sellers and has partnered with over 500 registered pharmacists across the country for validation of prescriptions and dispensation of medicines.
The company will reportedly collaborate with third-party healthcare service providers to offer services such as teleconsultation and e-diagnostics.
