Amazon India has announced that its Great Indian Festival sale will take place from October 17 onwards and will start a day earlier for Prime users. Interestingly, October 16 is also when Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale is set to begin – which means the two e-commerce giants are going to fight it out with the same festive sale dates, once again. Both Amazon and Flipkart have been on a marketing and PR spree ahead of the sale events – with product launches, thousands of hirings, and kirana sellers brought on board.
“This year’s Great Indian Festival is an opportunity for our sellers and partners to reach millions of customers across the country. Our sellers are excited and expect this to help them in accelerating their business. For our customers, our aim is to help them find everything they need during the festive season and deliver it safely to them,” said Manish Tiwary, Vice President, Amazon India.
And at the winning end of this bargain are going to be consumers, who can choose and compare products on sale at both the marquee events.
Flipkart’s BBD sale begins from October 16 midnight, with early access for Flipkart Plus consumers on October 15, it will go until October 21. And on the other hand, Amazon’s Great Indian Festival hasn’t been given a set end date, and during a press conference, Tiwary just said, “It’s going to be a month-long celebration for sellers and buyers.”
