Dabur springs a surprise with an 18 percent volume growth

Standalone operating profit grew 15.7 percent, nearly a percent higher than Nirmal Bang estimate.

Standalone revenue grew by 18.5 percent led by 18.1 percent volume growth.

The company said its consumer staple business grew 19.5 percent in the third quarter.

Revival in discretionary spending helped the home and personal care segment to grow by 16 percent.

The healthcare segment, which includes Chyawanprash, continued to be the outperformer, with 28 percent growth.

The foods business that includes Real juice and other beverages ended the quarter with a 16 percent growth.

The Middle-east business reported double-digit growth, while US and Egypt were in healthy single digit.

This may be largely because the broader market was in sell-off mode, the Sensex fell 600 points.
