TVS iQube Electric scooter announced with SmartXonnect support

- TVS iQube electric scooter launched at an on-road price of ₹1.5 lakh in Bengaluru.

TVS Motors Company, the second largest scooter manufacturer in India has forayed into the electric scooter segment with the launch of the iQube Electric scooter. It will be available in Bengaluru from January 27."Our focus on the 'Green and Connected' youth of India, is embodied, in the first of the TVS Electric portfolio. TVS iQube Electric is a blend of an advanced electric drivetrain and the next gen TVS SmartXonnect platform," said Venu Srinivasan, chairman of TVS Motor Company.
This move comes just a few days after Bajaj Auto relaunched the iconic Chetak in an electric avatar. The TVS iQube Electric will compete with the Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450 and the Okinawa Praise in the Indian electric vehicle segment.
Initially, TVS is looking to manufacture about 1,000 units of the vehicle every month. The vehicle will be available from ten dealerships in Karnataka and ten charging points will be provided in the state.

TVS iQube Electric features
The TVS iQube Electric is equipped with a 4.4 kW electric motor to provide high power and efficiency without any transmission loss. It has a top-speed of 78 kmph and its 4.5 kWh 3 Li-ion battery provides a range of 75 km on Eco-mode. It can be fully charged in 5 hours.
It features a TFT dashboard with day/night screen for navigation, incoming call alerts, SMS alerts, charge and speed indicators. Other features include regenerative braking, geo-fencing, smart ride statistics, range indication, over-speed alerts, last park location and parking assist.
The TVS iQube Electric comes with built-in SIM and Bluetooth support for connectivity. It also has USB charging.
