Toyota RAV4/Wildlander topped the list of highest-selling cars in 2022. Internationally, this model saw sales of 1,015,700 last year, thanks to the popularity it commanded among car lovers. Toyota RAV4/Wildlander, which was No. 1 in 2021, maintained its position as the most popular car in 2022 as well. However, the total number of cars sold in 2022 dropped by 10% from 2021.

Toyota Corolla/Levin sedan is the second most-sold car brand in 2022. Like ToyotaRAV4/Wildlander, this model’s position too remained unchanged from a year earlier. In 2022, an overwhelming 991,600 Toyota Corolla/Levin Sedans were sold worldwide. This was, however, 10% lower than the total number sold in 2021.

Tesla Model Y was one of the largest-selling car models in 2022 with 747,500 units sold worldwide. It has seen a big jump in its ranking this year, catapulting from 19th position in 2021. The 91% increase in sales over 2021 has lifted it to the third position among the most popular car models in 2022.

The total number of Honda CR-V/Breeze cars sold around the world in 2022 was 733,300. This figure is 18% lower when compared with the sales reported in 2021. In 2021, Honda CR-V/Breeze was the third largest-selling car model in the world. It has slid down the list by one position in 2022.

Toyota Camry is another car model that has retained its position as the fifth most-sold car in the world in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, 673,300 units of this model were sold globally, 1% lower than the number achieved in 2021.

Occupying the sixth position among the highest-selling cars in the world in 2022 is Toyota’s Hilux. Last year saw this brand registering sales of 632,500 units, which is a 13% surge in sales when compared with 2021. This model held the 7th position among the world’s top-selling cars in 2021.

The world-wide sale of Nissan Sentra/Sylphy in 2022 was 566,500. When compared with the total number of cars sold in 2021, this model faced an 18% drop. This car model dropped to the 7th position in 2022 from 4th last year.

Experiencing a huge surge in its popularity, Toyota Corolla Cross/Frontlander sold 530,300 of its cars around the globe in 2022. This figure marked a 221% increase in sales when compared with the number sold in 2021. Also, in 2021, this car model held the 115th position among the largest-selling car models.

In the ninth position among the largest-selling cars is the Ford F-150, which saw sales of 525,100 units in 2022. This number is a 5% drop when compared with the sales figure reported in 2021. This car had the 8th place among the most popular cars in 2021.
