Tata Motors on Tuesday launched the updated version of its popular electric SUV, the Tata Nexon EV. The company launched the Nexon EV facelift with a revamped design in September 2023 and just a year later has launched a new variant with a bigger battery and improved features.

The Nexon EV was earlier launched in two battery pack variants – a 30.2kWh battery pack variant and a 40.5kWh battery pack variant. The Indian automaker has now launched a 45kWh battery pack variant.

Tata Nexon EV features and specifications

The Nexon EV Long Range retains the same design as the older Nexon EV with one addition – a panoramic sunroof. It retains other design elements such as a full-width LED light bar, a closed grille and more.

The electric SUV is also equipped with the same Gen-2 permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers a maximum power output of 145 bhp and 215 Nm of peak torque.

The new Nexon EV 45 kWh battery variant offers an ARAI claimed range of 489 km. The company’s C75 range, which the company estimates based on real-world usage is around 370 km.

The car can be charged from 10 to 80% in around 40 minutes using a 60 kW fast charger.

The company has also launched the Dark Red edition of the Nexon EV. This is similar to other Dark Red editions launched by the company. It features a Carbon Black colour option, featuring blacked-out roof rails, alloy wheels, ORVMs and grille. On the inside, the SUV features a black and red theme.
