The Simple One electric scooter is all set to launch on August 15, and ahead of the launch, the Bengaluru-based startup has opened up pre-bookings of its first electric scooter.The Simple One electric scooter can be pre-booked at a price of ₹1,947, starting August 15, from 5 p.m., on the company’s website.
“Through Simple One, we hope to create a benchmark in the EV [electric vehicle] Industry. 15th August is a historic day for us too. We look forward to an electrifying year ahead,” the company’s founder and chief executive officer Suhas Rajkumar said.
The Simple One, when launched, will take on the Ola Scooter and Ather 450X, its direct rivals. The Simple One and Ola electric scooters are scheduled to launch on August 15, while the Ather 450X is already available starting at ₹99,000, but prices vary depending on the region.

Apart from revealing the pre-booking price and dates, Simple Energy also revealed that its electric scooter will be powered by a 4.8 kilowatt hour (kWh) lithium-ion battery, weighing over 6 kilograms.
Simple Energy says that the battery can be fully charged in 70 minutes.
In terms of range, the company claims that the Simple One can go up to 240 kilometres on a single charge in ‘Eco mode’, but the on-road range will likely vary. Eco mode prioritises efficiency over performance, and is available in several modern motor vehicles, especially cars.
It has a rated top speed of up to 100 kilometre per hour (kmph), and can go from 0-50 kmph in 3.6 seconds.

Other features of the Simple One electric scooter include a touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, onboard navigation support, among other things.
The company says Simple One’s price will be in the range of ₹1,00,000 to ₹1,20,000, suggesting there could be a few variants to choose from.
The Simple One will be launched in 13 states in the first phase, with other regions expected to be added later.
