Kia Sonet pre-booking starts today— Here’s all you need to know about price, features and other details

Kia Motors India has already commenced bookings of its upcoming compact SUV, Kia Sonet, from Wednesday midnight. While the car made its debut earlier this month, the pricing has not been announced yet.

One can pre-book the all new Kia Sonet either through the companies dealerships or online on the Kia Motors India’s website for a token amount of ₹25,000, Kia Motors India said in a statement.

The Kia Sonet has been engineered and built with Indian inputs and is a global model for Kia from India, the company added.


“India is the first country in the world where the Sonet goes on sale, and with the commencement of pre-bookings, we are confident our SUV will be warmly received in the country,” Kookhyun Shim, Kia Motors India MD and CEO said.

The Kia Sonet would be rolled out from the company’s Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh and would be first offered to Indian customers before being exported to over 70 markets including Middle-East, Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

Here’s all you need to know before pre-booking the Kia Sonet:
  • The Kia Sonet is equipped with user-friendly features such as a two-layer tray to store mobile devices in the dashboard, high-tech digital display and instrument cluster, featuring a first-in-segment 10.25-inch HD touchscreen and navigation system with UVO connected technologies.
  • The company offers a choice of two petrol engines to choose from one is a Smartstream 1.2-litre four-cylinder and a powerful 1.0 T-GDi (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) and another being an efficient 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine with a choice of five transmissions.
  • The car comes with the BOSE Premium seven-speaker audio with a subwoofer. It also offers a smart pure air purifier with virus protection.
  • The car comes with an array of safety features such as six airbags, the anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, vehicle stability management, and brake assist.
  • The car is available in 10 different variant that includes — beige gold, intelligency blue, aurora black pearl, intense red, gravity grey, steel silver, glacier white pearl, beige gold + aurora black pearl, glacier white pearl + aurora black pearl, intense red + aurora black pearl.
  • The car's price is still a mystery. However, it is expected to be priced around ₹8 lakh - ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.
  • The Kia’s compact SUV will compete against Maruti Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Venue and others.
