Indian automaker Mahindra announced the eKUV100, the electric variant of its popular compact SUV KUV100 at the Auto Expo 2020, claiming that it is the most affordable passenger electric vehicle in India.
Tata Motors, another Indian automaker had launched the Nexon EV, an electric variant of its Nexon SUV earlier this year. It is the first fully electric SUV from the company and is priced higher than other electric cars.

The Mahindra eKUV100 and the Tata Nexon EV are quite different in terms of design, which is expected due to the price difference.
The Mahindra eKUV100 is identical to its petrol derivative in terms of design. Like a lot of the other electric vehicles, Mahindra has added blue accents to its car at the front, on the wheels and at the back.
The Tata Nexon EV sports the company’s new Impact 2.0 design language. It has a grille on the front with a chunky black bar in the middle. It has a sunroof that comes in contrasting colours, adding to the overall look of the car.

The Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra eKUV100 both have features like is equipped with features like keyless entry, climate control, push button for turning the car on/off and hill descent, power steering, ABS and a central locking system.
Mahindra’s EV also includes features like cruise control, Android Auto support, Apple CarPlay support. But Nexon EV takes the cake in terms of features with smart regenerative braking that helps in recharging the car’s battery when you brake, and single speed transmission.
So while Tata’s car offers plenty of features, Mahindra’s EV is certainly more value for money. If budget is not a constraint, you’re probably better off with the Tata Nexon EV.
