Citroen has introduced the C3 Aircross, made in India, for global markets, with an expected launch in late 2023. The new SUV is built on the same CMP modular platform as the C3 micro-SUV and eC3 electric car and is available in five- and seven-seater versions.

Let's explore how it stacks up against its main competitor, the Hyundai Creta.

The Citroen C3 Aircross boasts a unique design with features such as a sculpted clamshell bonnet, bumper-mounted headlights, and a sleek grille with the 'Double Chevron' logo the Hyundai CRETA sports a muscular hood, LED headlights, and a large chrome grille. Both SUVs have silvered skid plates, roof rails, and 17-inch wheels.

In terms of dimensions, the C3 Aircross measures approximately 4,300mm in length, has a wheelbase of 2,671mm, and a ground clearance of 200mm, while the CRETA has a length of 4,300mm, a wheelbase of 2,610mm, and a ground clearance of 190mm.

The Citroen C3 Aircross is powered by a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 108.4hp of power and 190Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the Hyundai CRETA has a 1.5-liter petrol engine generating 113hp/144Nm and a 1.5-liter diesel engine producing 113hp/250Nm.

The Citroen C3 Aircross offers a spacious cabin with five/seven seats, fabric upholstery, manual AC with rear AC vents, a digital instrument cluster, and a 10.0-inch infotainment screen. The Creta has a more equipped cabin with leather upholstery, a sunroof, a wireless charger, automatic AC, and a 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system, offering more feel-good features.

The Citroen C3 Aircross will have its price announcement and launch date in the second half of this year.

The Hyundai CRETA is available in India with a price range of ₹10.87 lakh to ₹19.20 lakh, whereas the Citroen C3 Aircross is expected to start at approximately ₹10 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The CRETA is a more practical choice for Indian customers because of its rugged appearance, feature-rich cabin, and after-sales service.
