Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has commenced bookings of its upcoming compact SUV Urban Cruiser today. One can pre-book the all-new Toyota Urban Cruiser through the company’s dealerships or online on the TKM website for a nominal token amount of ₹11,000, the company said in a statement.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser is a much-anticipated launch from Toyota in India. While the car is unlikely to go on sale anytime before late September, Toyota will offer a standard three years and 1 lakh km warranty with an option to extend it.
Here’s all you need to know before pre-booking the Toyota Urban Cruiser:
Toyota Urban Cruiser rivals
The sub-four metre model is based on Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and will compete in a segment that has been witnessing robust sales growth despite a challenging business environment. Besides Vitara Brezza, the model would compete with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and upcoming products from Kia Motors and Nissan.

The Urban Cruiser will come with 1.5-litre petrol engine mated to both manual and automatic transmissions.
The automatic variants of the model will be equipped with an advanced Li-Ion battery with an ISG- integrated starter generator, which would allow for features such as torque assist, regenerative braking, and idle start/stop.
Toyota Urban Cruiser features
The compact SUV will come with various features like LED projector headlamps, smartphone-based navigation, among others. The car will have a similar set of 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that we see in the Vitara Brezza.
Toyota Urban Cruiser price
Although the Toyota Urban Cruiser price will be slightly above the Brezza from Maruti as it seeks to position itself as a more premium version, the car is likely to be priced somewhere around ₹8 lakh.
