Electric cars have been around for a while now, but India hasn’t seen too many launches over the last few years. But that has changed recently. Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV and the Mahindra eVerito were launched within a month. That has expanded the choice for electric car lovers that Indian market has been lacking.

But there are more to come. In this post, we will cover some of the upcoming electric car launches in India. If you are looking to buy an electric car this year, go through the below list before you choose from one of the existing cars.

Top upcoming electric cars in India in 2020

While there have been no announcements from automakers about a specific launch date, several companies have hinted that they will launch their EVs this year in the country. Premium EVs like the Audi e-tron, Porsche Taycan, BMW i3 and the Jaguar I-Pace are on the top our list of upcoming EVs in India.

If you are looking for a pocket-friendly car, the Nissan Leaf and the Volkswagen ID 3 are worth considering. The ID 3 is the first car from Volkswagen’s all electric sub-brand ID and is based on the company’s new MEB platform.

If you are looking for budget options, Mahindra is expected to launch three new affordable EVs – the XUV300 EV, eKUV 100 and the Mahindra-Ford Aspire EV. The Mahindra-Ford Aspire EV will be co-developed by Mahindra and Ford and is based on Mahindra’s platform.
