Tata Nexon EV vs Mahindra eVerito: Which affordable electric car should you go for?

Tata Nexon EV was launched in India last week, making it the second electric car in India from the company. The EV avatar of the popular Tata Nexon is bound to be a head-turner, especially with its diamond-cut alloy wheels. But it’s also priced higher than other electric cars.

While the Nexon EV is an SUV, the Mahindra eVerito is an electric version of the popular Verito sedan. It is also slightly cheaper than the Nexon EV, making it a good option for people who want an affordable car.

In this post, we compare the Tata Nexon EV with the Mahindra eVerito to see which car stands where in terms of affordable, features and performance.

Tata Nexon EV vs Mahindra eVerito: Price

The Tata Nexon EV price in India starts at ₹13.99 lakh and it comes in three variants. The Mahindra eVerito also comes in three variants, and its price starts at ₹13.17 lakh.

The Mahindra eVerito is slightly more affordable when compared to the Nexon EV, and it has been around for a while now. So how does it measure up against the latest electric car from the house of Tata? Let’s find out.

Tata Nexon EV vs Mahindra eVerito: Design

The Nexon EV and eVerito are quite different when it comes to the design. While the Nexon EV has a sporty look thanks to its SUV build, the eVerito is a lot more reserved with its sedan style.

The Tata Nexon EV sports the company’s new Impact 2.0 design language. It has a grille on the front with a chunky black bar in the middle. Tata has given it a slightly angular design and new 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

The Tata Nexon EV comes in three colours – Signature Teal Blue, Glacier White and Moonlit Silver. The sunroof comes in contrasting tones, which adds to the looks of the car.



On the other hand, the Mahindra eVerito adopts a more conservative look. There’s not much going except the chrome grille on the front, body side decals and the bumpers. The D6 and D4 variants get optional alloy wheels, while the D2 gets regular steel-rimmed wheels.

The Mahindra eVerito comes in two colours – Desat Silver and Diamond White.

Tata Nexon EV vs MG ZS EV: Features



The Tata Nexon EV has features like keyless entry, climate control, push button for turning the car on/off and single speed transmission. Like most other electric vehicles, the Nexon EV also includes smart regenerative braking that helps you recharge the car’s battery when you brake.

Other features include hill ascent/descent assist, power steering, ABS and a central locking system.

The Mahindra eVerito comes with features like regenerative braking, fast charging, keyless entry, powered windows, ABS, powered steering and more. Unfortunately, it misses out on some of the features that the Nexon EV offers like an electric sunroof, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
