How the government is planning to increase employment

Nirmala Sitharaman, in a media briefing said, “Spending ₹5.5 lakh crore on infra and we are expanding ₹7.7 lakh on capital expenditure. It will have a direct impact on jobs. Besides this, PLI is being pushed in 14 sectors. Independent studies say that the MSME [micro, small and medium enterprises] sectors used the similar ECLGS [emergency credit line guarantee scheme] loans (given last year) to retain employees. The ECLGS given to hospitality is being given keeping jobs/employment in mind.”
