Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is likely to announce a host of incentives for rural economy during Budget 2016 on February 29.

Jaitley wants to bring changes in agriculture policy as well as focus on being pro-poor.

The Indian economy, presently, is harping on urban demand and very less from rural side.

The finance minister will also give emphasis on de-risking agriculture as the country has already experience two consecutive bad monsoons.

Various platforms such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, etc will see more consolidation.

The Food Security Act will also be infused with more funds.

Priority will also be given to MUDRA and even the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) will be tweaked to help strengthen the country's irrigation system.
