BRUSSELS ATTACKS: the key pictures and videos

Three explosions ripped through Brussels this morning. Two occured at Zaventem Airport while another devastated Maelbeek metro station in the Belgian capital. At least 26 people are being reported dead and 136 more injured. 

Footage and images of the scenes were uploaded online as security across Europe was heightened. Anna Ahronheim (@AAhronheim) uploaded this footage of people running from Zaventem airport this morning after two explosions. 

This was the scene in the airport departures hall immediately following the blasts. 

The airport is a scene of devastation with large parts of the building destroyed.

People inside the airport were able to film the aftermath of the blasts. 

Images showed bloodied passengers with torn clothes covered in dust from the blast. 

Emergency services were at the airport.

BBC journalist Gavin Lee spoke to a member of the airport's luggage security team who dragged seven wounded people to safety.

Belgian freelance journalist Evan Lamos (@evanlamos) was traveling on the Metro between Schuman and Maelbeek stations when he heard a "soft thudding" in the distance and was told to evacuate.

He filmed this footage between the Arts-Lois and Maelbeek metro stations shortly after the explosion. 

 

This image taken by Twitter user alxdm shows the sheer devastation caused by the blast on the metro.

Twitter user @jfbxl filmed commuters and pedestrians fleeing from Maelbeek station where smoke was seen pouring from the entrance after an explosion. 

Emergency responders treat one of many people injured outside one of the affected Metro stations. 

People were evacuated from the airport after the explosions rocked the facility.
