Jarvis Landry is fulfilling his promise.

At just 24 years old, his high school sweetheart, Mya Marie Zimmer, passed away due to complications from Cystic Fibrosis - a genetic disorder that severely impacts the respiratory and digestive systems. But before he was an NFL star, Landry promised her that he would one day use his platform to help raise awareness for the disease.

As a fifth-year wide receiver in the NFL, Landry has taken many steps to promote awareness of Cystic Fibrosis, including partnering with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and creating an event called Jarvis' Jam to help raise funds for a cure. But on Thursday, Landry took a moment to honor someone else who is working towards achieving that same goal.

In an appearance on The Jim Rome show, Landry surprised Nick Kelly, an ambassador to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation who lives with the disease, with two tickets to Sunday's Super Bowl matchup between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams.

Landry's gesture understandably moved Kelly.

"You rarely ever see someone who really means what they stand by," Kelly said. "Having him be what he's saying he is, it means so much. It's overwhelming for someone to be as genuine as they are and to believe what he's saying. It's amazing."

An equally emotional Landry spoke about how much it meant to him to be able to support people like Kelly:

"I think we both have been affected by this cause," Landry said. "People who are actually struggling with this disease aren't the only ones who are actually fighting it. I just want you to know and everybody to know that I'm here fighting it with you guys and I'm here for you all the time."
