Britannia Expands Operations In India, Opens Manufacturing Unit In Gujarat

This is a brand that is common to more than 40% of Indian households. They have given us products like breads, delicious biscuits and savoury cheeses. India is a great market for Britannia where products from the major reaches more than 35 lakh retail outlets across the country.

To amplify there reach further they have opened a highly automated manufacturing unit in Gujrat that will cater to bakery products. The unit was set up with an investment of 75-100 crores and will help the company increase their share in states like Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, apart from Gujarat itself.

Britannia already has manufacturing units in Bihar, Orrisa and Tamil Nadu. With the addition of the Gujarat factory, the company can easily reach West Indian states and save on transportation and allied costs.
