Boston College Student Admits That Seriously Disturbing Rape Confession Was A 'Hoax'
Confessions pages are widespread on college campuses - although they are unaffiliated with any school - and feature anonymous posts purportedly submitted by students. The pages are typically independently moderated by students.
In one part of the BC Confessions post, the student recounts how he took advantage of an intoxicated girl his roommate brought back to their room:
The author of the post reportedly turned himself in to BC police after Confessions administrators posted that they had notified the police and turned over all information on the submission, according to student newspaper The Heights. In an email to the BC community Wednesday morning, the Dean of Students wrote, "The student appeared quite remorseful, nevertheless, this matter will continue to be investigated and the student will be referred to the Student Conduct System for resolution of this matter."
