Bionics, Wearables, Internet Of Things, And 3D Printing Coming To IGNITION
Sports Illustrated/Getty ImagesHugh Herr has been called the “Leader of the Bionic Age” because of his revolutionary work in the emerging field of "biomechatronics" — technology that marries human physiology with electromechanics. A double amputee himself, Herr has made breakthrough advances in bionic limbs that provide greater mobility and new hope to those with physical disabilities.
Herr's research at the MIT Media Lab in Boston has led to the development of space-age-sounding computer-controlled artificial knees and more that have won numerous awards and worldwide recognition.
We’re thrilled that Dr. Herr will be giving a TED-style talk at IGNITION: Future of Digital, Business Insider's flagship conference, being held this year at New York’s Time Warner Center November 11-13.
We'll also explore how technology is changing how we dress (wearables), manage our households (internet of things), and invent new products (3D printing). IGNITION is NYC's premier digital conference and you don't want to miss it.
