From movies that ditched the stereotypes and dared to think out of the box to heroines who embodied girl-power and spoke their mind and took on challenges, this year saw it all.

As the year draws to the close, we at Business Insider thought it would be a good time to give it up to the seven Bollywood actresses who truly redefined badass and spoke their mind, and made us sit up and take notice.
