While, for Amazon, the delivery of the products got temporarily impacted, Flipkart said the safety of their delivery staff is priority and that they will mitigate all customer impact by keeping them informed about expected delays.

Meanwhile, Indian IT companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and Cognizant were also hit by the protests. They declared a day’s off on Monday as the violence escalated.

Industry body Assocham revealed that Karnataka, especially Bengaluru, is estimated to have suffered losses worth Rs. 22,000 to 25,000 crore as a result of the Cauvery water row.

Protesters were seen vandalizing shops, and setting Tamil Nadu registered buses and trucks on fire. The situation turned grave on the ground when two persons were killed recently during the protests.
