The BCCI Disciplinary Committee on Christmas Eve decided to defer action on Ajit Chandila and Hiken Shah till January 5. That will give the tainted duo enough time till January 4th to file a written response to the charges of spot-fixing.

The three-member committee comprising President Shashank Manohar, Jyotiraditya Scindya and Niranjan Shah met at the Cricket Centre in Mumbai.

Chandila was arrested by the police for trying to spot-fix IPL games in 2013 with Sreesanth and Ankit Chavan from Rajasthan Royals.

Shah approached one of his colleagues from first-class cricket, who was also an IPL player. The approached player then reported it to the franchise, which then passed it BCCI’s Anti Corruption Unit.
