But with the announcement of the BBM client on PC, we are a bit taken aback and a few questions immediately come to mind. Is BlackBerry really equipped to service such a large industry? How will it manage the services between platforms? Does this mean BlackBerry is now more of a service provider than a mobile phone manufacturer? These are the questions troubling the current generation of BlackBerry phone users as well. Its messenger service is exceptional on a BlackBerry device, but what will happen eventually as the database grows immensely with Android, iOS and now PC users coming into the picture.
The desktop version was showcased at the BlackBerry Asia Jam 2013, but a release date has not been given. Many believe that the company is trying to fight the current fund crunch in any way it can, to keep afloat. We do fear if the company crashes, many users will be deprived of the best e-mail service ever seen on mobile phones.
