Bajaj Auto, an Indian two-wheeler and three-wheeler maker, on Friday registered 3% decline in its monthly sales for December 2014 at 289,244 units, which was down from 297,776 units sold during the same period in 2013.
In the month under review, the
Pune-headquartered manufacturer exported 10% more units as compared to what it had shipped out in December 2013.
Bajaj Auto exported 166,134 units in December 2014 as against 150,753 units sold abroad during the same month of 2013.
If we look segment-wise, the auto maker sold 246,233
motorcycles in the month under review, which is down 6% from 260,645 sold in December 2013.
However, the company recorded a good response in the commercial vehicle segment, wherein sales zoomed by 16% and reached 43,011 units as compared to 31,131 units in December 2013.
Bajaj Auto sold a total of 3,028,532 units for the fiscal 2014-15, which is up 3% from 2,934,295 units sold during the corresponding period of 2013-14.
