Hyundai has globally launched the next-generation Genesis luxury sedan in India. The South Korean car-maker is all set to bring its flagship sedan to India. Once here it is set to compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 and the Jaguar XF.
The Hyundai Genesis is offered with two engines options – the 3.8-litre V6 GDI that churns out 315 PS of Power and a 5.0-litre V8 GDI unit that offers 426 PS. Both these engines are mated to 8-speed automatic transmission. The 3.8-litre V6 variant offers also all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as optional.
On the insides, the biggest talking points of the Hyundai Genesis are the 9.2-inch high definition touch screen interface and the 17-speaker Lexicon audio setup.
While Hyundai as been very vague on the pricing front, we estimate the 3.8-litre variant to be priced at an estimated Rs 45 lakhs. Anything above this, and the price-sensitive Indian rather drive a Merc, BMW, Audi or Jaguar.
