It’s not even been ten days that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) was passed in the Rajya Sabha, and an Indian state assembly has already passed it in the state.

Assam state assembly today unanimously passed the bill, within days of it being passed in both upper and lower houses of parliament.

"I declare the Bill, which was passed by both Houses of Parliament, to be ratified unanimously by Assam Assembly," said assembly speaker Ranjeet Kumar Dass while announcing the passage.

Here’s what Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal had to say on this on Twitter.
