"France wants peace"; "Liberty, I will cherish your name"; "We stay strong and united in the face of barbarians" - Several handwritten notes staring out of window panes of 'La Belle Equipe cafe' where 19 people were killed in one of the most barbarian attacks that took place in Paris, is testimony to the pain and the courage of the people of France.
In this cafe on Friday night, according to local media reports, majority of the victims were celebrating the 36th birthday of waitress Houda Saadi. Halima was celebrating with her sister, brother and several friends when the ISIS gunmen suddenly arrived at 9: 30 pm and started spraying the cafe with bullets. One of Halima's friend Chloe Clement was saved by their friend Ludo Boumbas who threw himself in between her and the gunman. He died on the spot. Meanwhile, the wife of the Jewish bar owner, Grégory Reibenberg, 46, also lost her life in front of him in the attacks.
Such and several other tales of La Belle Equipe cafe will go down in history to remind people of the Paris attack horror, but at the moment, it's bullet struck window pains are 'crying' over the loss to human life while also calling out for unity, peace and courage amid three days of national mourning.
