Ariana Huffington, co-founder and editor-in-chief of Huffington Post and one of the world's most influential women, is of the belief that sleep has the power to transform our lives. But, it’s not enough to just know that- one should also put that to good use, she says in her latest book, The Sleep Revolution: One Night At a Time.’

In it, she argues that most of us are in some way or the other sleep-deprived, and while the early stages of the sleep revolution that the world is witnessing right now has brought with it an array of things that help us to go off to sleep, she is of the opinion that this isn't it.

“There’s always room for more,” she writes.

And, hence, she’s taken up the responsibility and penned what she calls a ‘Sleep Wish List

Some of her wishes are serious, some are whimsical and some she claims are absolutely within our reach (if we ever decide to look away from our smartphones).

We had a look at Huffington’s Sleep Wish List and can guarantee it’s hilarious and relatable in equal measure. And, decided to compile a few of her wishes for the world to nod their head to.

Ariana Huffington dreams of a sleep healthy world where:

1. People are listing their healthy sleep habits as an item on their resumes and LinkedIn pages.

2. A device is created that allows us to record, and play back our dreams

3. Health insurers offer discounts in premiums for healthy sleep habits

4. The day arrives when nap mats are as plentiful as the yoga mats we see poking out of people’s bags as they go to and from work.

5. Our elected leaders lead on sleep by example, starting with political candidates-at all levels-making sleep health a part of their problem.
6. Widespread school reform is enacted, moving school start times later so that children and adolescents can get enough sleep.

7. And, finally an app that turns our smartphone into a dumbphone from the time we start preparing for sleep to the time we wake up- with no power to override it.
