What could be the better birthday gift than receiving a platinum and diamond eternity band, that too from your boyfriend? Don’t speculate much, we are taking about actress Katrina Kaif, who celebrated her 32nd birthday yesterday with Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor in Alibaug and received a priceless gift.

Ranbir and Katrina visited the coastal town of Alibaug in Maharashtra to celebrate her birthday. And guess what happened there, beyond Birthday celebrations? The Bombay Velvet star proposed to his lady love, Katrina, and gave her a platinum and diamond eternity band by Van Cleef and Arpels.

It has been reportedly said that the couple got engaged on July 16 and are currently in London, where Katrina’s parents live.

Ranbir and Katrina have been dating for quite a long time, but they have neither accepted nor denied it in public. But there have been speculations in the media as well as the film industry that they were in relationship. The following instances are the proof:

Known for his wit and bantering, Bollywood actor Salman Khan called his former girlfriend Katrina Kaif as “Katrina Kapoor” during the wedding ceremony of his sister Arpita Khan in November last year. He further said: "Mai kya karoon…I gave you a chance to become Katrina Khan, but you chose to be 'Katrina Kapoor'!"

Moreover, Katrina and Ranbir were snapped enjoying a sunny day at a beach in Spain in July 2013. The pictures of Katrina, wearing a white and red bikini with Ranbir cooling off in a pair of surfer shorts, went viral on social media.

They were spotted many times, attending film screenings, awards shows and other events together in India and abroad.

Ranbir and Katrina came together for the first time on screen in "Ajab Prem ki Gazab Kahaani" in 2009. During this time, Katrina was dating Salman Khan and Ranbir was in a relationship with actress Deepika Padukone.

Soon, gossip mills hinted that Ranbir said “Tera Hone Laga Hoon” to Katrina in real life too. They both broke off with their respective partners and their love story started moving in a positive direction. Ranbir and Katrina starrer ‘Rajneeti’ released in 2010, which further cemented their relationship and brought them closer.
