Tech Insider -- Business Insider's recently launched sister site focused on tech, science, and innovation -- is hiring a paid editorial intern to aid our coverage of world-changing ideas. It will be your job to find the most interesting angles on what's happening in the worlds of design, cities, activism, food, sustainability, and everything in between.

Interns at Tech Insider aren't sent on coffee runs, or forced to spend their days filing or making copies. Our interns are an integral part of our team. Many of our current writers and editors started as interns.

TI Interns spend their time doing meaningful work: researching, writing, pitching, and producing features - even breaking news if the timing's right. We want people who can find their own stories, pitch them, and write quickly, cleanly, and intelligently. We will have you producing as much as you possibly can in no time.

Our style is smart, conversational, exciting and geared toward a general audience.

We're hiring interns both in New York and in San Francisco. Internships run for 6 months, and interns are encouraged to work up to 40 hours a week.

The ideal candidate will have:

-- Experience writing for a news outlet or a degree in journalism or related concentration.

-- An interest in the trends that will shape how we live and work in the future.

-- An understanding of how to write for a broad audience.
