Tech site AnandTech published an outrageously detailed 21-page review of the newest iPhones, six pages of which went on about how powerful the new A9 processors, or system-on-a-chip (SoC), in the new iPhones are.
AnandTech published results from its benchmark tests with the new iPhones, saying that they have a "significant overall performance lead over the next best mobile devices" and Apple is "basically taking the lead across the board."
Most of the scores showed the new iPhones not just beating, but demolishing the competition in benchmarks designed to test web browsing speeds, graphics, memory speed (for opening apps that are open in the background), and general processing speed.
The competition includes the latest flagship smartphones from Samsung, LG, HTC, Motorola, Google, Huawei, and even phones that aren't available in the US, like the Chinese Xiaomi and Meizu smartphones.
You might have heard that certain iPhones have chips made by either Samsung or TSMC, and the one made by Samsung was slightly less powerful. AnandTech assures that "regardless of which one you end up with, the performance is going to be far and away better than anything else we've seen thus far."
