Apple is doing whatever it can to boost the sale of its latest smartphones, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus in India.
After a dismal performance post Diwali, Apple has cut down prices of both its latest phones by at least 16 per cent.
iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, which were launched in October this year, may now cost you around Rs 52,000 and Rs 62,000, respectively for 16GB models.
Apple wants to boost its sales to boost up the December quarter.
This is the first time that the price of an Apple flagship has been brought down within two months of launch.
Apple had hopes of brilliant sales of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and had imported around 320,000 of the latest iPhones in October. Since then, the shipments have gone down.
Also, Apple had slashed price of Apple iPhone 5s too, which is now available at Rs 24,999.
"Now that they have aligned prices, we can see some sales happening in future quarters, which will also sustain Apple in the typically weaker periods of January to September," Tarun Pathak of Counterpoint Technology Market Research told ET.
As Apple is on a cutting down, it is to see how customers will make the most of the opportunity.
