It looks like Apple added some water-proofing measures to the iPhone SE, just like it did to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

Still, don't go dunking your iPhone in water anytime soon just to test this. iPhones are still not totally waterproof.

Tech teardown site iFixit had its way with the iPhone SE and took it apart to find foam silicone seals designed to keep liquids out from internal parts, including the front camera, volume controls, and rear camera connectors.

However, not all the parts are sealed, which suggests the iPhone SE is not entirely resistant to water like the Galaxy S7 is.

Indeed, Apple hasn't officially stated that the iPhone SE, or the 6s/6s Plus are resistant to water, whereas Samsung actively boasts water-resistance as one of the Galaxy S7's defining features.

That means you shouldn't consciously drop your iPhone SE in water, or pour champagne over it like Lil' Wayne does in Galaxy S7 commercials.

Considering Apple has added water-resistant sealing in its last few phone releases now (SE, 6s, 6s Plus), we might expect future iPhones to have some water resistance, and maybe even full water resistance like the Galaxy S7.
