For the first time ever in Apple’s history, it saw a decline in January-March quarterly revenue, which fell by 13 per cent due to fall in global iPhones sales.
But, if we focus on how the US smartphone maker did in India, Apple did post a growth story here.
iPhone sales in India grew by 56%.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said, “If you take a look at India, we grew by 56%, and we're placing increasing emphasis in these (emerging) areas, where it's clear there will be disproportionate growth versus the more developed areas."

Apple has maintained that it sees India as a bright spot and wants to open its own stores in the country, a proposal which is subjected to approval.
Meanwhile, as a part of its expansion plans in India, Cook said Apple will further push the roll out of fourth generation mobile internet services.
“We will make mobile networks better and unleash the power and capability of the iPhone in a way that an older network, a 2.5G or even some 3G networks, would not do,” said Cook.
"We've been working in India now for a couple of years or more, but we've been working with great energy over the last 18 months or so, and I'm encouraged by the results that we're beginning to see there, and believe there's a lot, lot more there,” said the Apple CEO.
