Located in North East India, Arunachal Pradesh is the biggest one among the seven North East Indian States. The state of Arunachal Pradesh has a total number of 7,99,126 voters on the electoral rolls. This figure comprises of 3,97,477 males and 4,01,649 females. There are no registered third gender voters in the state.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Arunachal Pradesh elected the Congress party from one of its seats while giving the other seat to the BJP. During 2009 elections, both the seats in the state were won by the Congress party. The BJP won from both the constituencies during the 2004 Lok Sabha elections. Down the history during the Lok Sabha elections, the main fight in the state has been between the Congress and the BJP.
Arunachal Pradesh has two Lok Sabha seats and hence two MPs can represent the state in the parliament. In this state there are 60 assembly constituencies. The last assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh was held in May 2014. The state can also send one Rajya Sabha member from here. The state voted in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 in a single phase on April 1, 2019 when the country saw its first round of polling.
