As we said yesterday, this week is going to be full of new launches. Today was the turn of Lenovo who have launched a super slim smartphone with 5-inch touchscreen aimed at the youth of the country. Lenovo has started calling itself a PC+ company, as almost 50% of Lenovo’s sales are now coming from mobile phones and tablets. In general terms, PC+ means they are primarily a PC company with gadgets in allied verticals as well.

Today they showcased Vibe X smartphone, which weighs 121 grams and is 6.9 mm thin. Configuration includes a 1.5 GHz Quad-core CPU, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal memory. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and users can click pictures using the 13MP rear cam. All this is good, but what is better is its price. The Chinese major managed to keep the price of this phablet under the 30k mark. People can pick it up for Rs 25,999.

This phone does strengthen the line-up of Lenovo smartphones in India, as now they have something for everyone. They need to strongly work on how to reach the masses with their exclusive outlets here, which are spread over 650 Indian cities. If they market it well, they just might give a tough competition to some of the Indian manufacturers.
