Android as we know it today is one of the world’s most widely adopted operating system but to reach here it saw quite a few ups and downs. And it's about time we take a recap of the whole Android story, funny side up. Bangalore based Consumer Technology Company, CREO who has recently joined the Android bandwagon has a very funny take on the Android journey so far through one hilarious Facebook timeline of Android right from the word go. It all started with Andy Rubin, who was incidentally nicknamed Android because of his obsession with robots and his new OS project.
Pretty soon Andy Rubin went broke trying to make ends meet, only to be saved by Steve Perlman who helped him stay afloat.

Along came Google, Google bought Android and changed its implementation from just cameras to mobile computing.

The HTC dream was released on 20th October 2008.
Even though Google faced initial failures with Nexus. More OEMs jumped in on the Android smartphone bandwagon.

Due to Nokia’s evasion of the new Android wave and its reluctance to give up on its indigenous Symbian platform, it kept losing the smartphone market share.
Samsung kept benefitting from the Android ecosystem to become one of the largest OEMs in the world.

Google kept contributing heavily to the Android platform. Google initially bought Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion back in 2012, but it said at the time that it was mainly interested in the company's patent portfolio. Post the patent stripping, Motorola mobility was sold to Lenovo for $2.9 Billion.
Owing to the continuous rise of Android that took over above 86% of the smartphone market. Google took another turn.

So huge is the bet on Android’s future that early this year, Alphabet overtook Apple to become the most valuable company in the world.
